VARIETIES OF MANGOES IN
GAMBIA
After
starting this very important research, I realised that the task was
enormous. I discovered that there were over two thousand varieties of
mangoes in the world hence my decision to restrict my research to the
Gambia alone. Even so the list is inexhaustible. In the Gambia, there
are over one hundred varieties.
The
research has been challenging, tough and often pleasurable. To be a real
authority on the subject, I had to taste all the varieties of mangoes
before commenting on them!
All
research involves some sacrifice!
Acknowledgements & Dedication
I like to
thank my dear sisters Jainaba Sissoho- Camara and Mam Oumie Sissoho for
inspiring me into undertaking this very important work. I believe this
very important research would go a long way in improving our
understanding, knowledge and appreciation of a very delicious delicacy.
